Safeguarding God's Children Training Schedule

The Diocese of Atlanta requires all adults who work with children and youth to attend a three-hour training called Safeguarding God’s Children. 

St. David's, Roswell

There will be a Safeguarding God's Children training at St. David's Episcopal Church, 1015 Old Roswell Rd., Roswell, GA 30076, on Saturday, Aug. 7, from 9  a.m. to noon.   It will be held in Jeffords Fellowship Hall and the trainer will be the Rev. Mary Erickson.  Anyone in the diocese needing training is welcome to attend.  Please RSVP to Judy Beecham at children@stdavidchurch.org.  If you have questions about the training, you may contact Linda Scott at the diocesan office,

St. Martin in the Fields, Atlanta

The Rev. Mary Erickson has offered to hold Safeguarding God's Children trainings at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church in Atlanta (3110 Ashford Dunwoody Rd., Atlanta, GA 30319) on the following dates:

Sunday, July 18, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 28,  9:00 a.m. - 12 noon
Sunday, September 26, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

People from any parish are welcome to attend any of the above offerings, but you must RSVP in advance to merickson@stmartins.org.  Cost is $5 per person to cover snacks and materials.  A minimum number of registrations must be received or the class will be cancelled so if you are planning to attend, please get your RSVP in early with all contact information, including your name, email, phone and your parish and the city it is in. 

St. Benedict's, Smyrna

Courtney Vaughn, Chrisitan Education Coordinator at St. Benedict's will be leading a Safeguarding God's Children training at St. Benedict's, 2160 Cooper Lake Rd., Smyrna, GA 30080 on Thursday, July 29, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm.  Those from other churches needing the training are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to Courtney@MysaintB.org.

We are looking at future dates for training.  If your church would like to host a training tis summer please contact Linda Scott at Lscott@episcopalatlanta.org or call her at 404-601-5353 or 800-537-6743 x 121.  There is no charge for the hosting parish, however we do ask that you provide refreshments.
